NEW YORK, Feb. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — JetBlue Airways Corporation reported its preliminary traffic results for January 2011.  Traffic in January increased 5.1 percent from January 2010, on a capacity decrease of 2.6 percent.

Load factor for January 2011 was 80.0 percent, an increase of 5.9 points from January 2010.  JetBlue’s preliminary completion factor was 94.6 percent and its on-time (1) performance was 65.0 percent.  JetBlue’s preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile for the month of January increased 13 percent year over year.  Approximately two points of this increase was attributable to the impact of snow and ice storms at the end of the month, which resulted in a lower than expected completion factor.

Airlines Add Fuel Surcharges   February 2nd, 2011

American Airlines, United-Continental, Air France, JetBlue and Delta are among the airlines instituting ‘fuel surcharge’ fees, as oil approaches the $100/barrel mark again.  The fees vary by airline and route, with JetBlue’s surcharge among the highest at 35 dollars each way to its Puerto Rico flights and a 45 dollar fuel surcharge for other destinations in the Caribbean.

NEW YORK, Jan. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Due to inclement weather forecast to impact the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States, JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU) will waive change fees and fare differences to give customers booked for travel to, from, or through select cities on Tues., February 1 and Wed., February 2, the opportunity to voluntarily rebook for new flights that depart anytime through Sun., Feb. 6, 2011.

Eligible cities include:

  • New York Metro:

    • New York, NY (JFK and LaGuardia)
